The gruesome murder of Dipu Chandra Das, a factory worker in Mymensingh district of Bangladesh, has shocked Muslims in Assam. In a conversation with Awaz-The Voice, many Muslims termed it an attack on “humanity, civilised society, human rights and democratic values”.

Ulema Maulana Fazlul Karim Qasimi, Assistant General Secretary of Assam State Jamiat, said, "The incident in Bangladesh is very unfortunate, and we strongly condemn it. We have already sent a memorandum to the High Commissioner of Bangladesh on behalf of Assam State Jamiat Ulema.

The group has staged protests against targeted violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.

“There is a rise of fundamentalist forces in Bangladesh, and the country’s current government is nurturing them. Such forces could not raise their heads during the regime of Sheikh Hasina”

He said that Muhammad Yunus was ruling the country with a hostile attitude. This will weaken Bangladesh educationally and economically. Countries like Syria, Libya, and Iraq have been destroyed with such elements in a position of dominance.

“We always hate these fundamentalists. If the Indian government takes any action for this, we are with the government,” he said.

"The incidents in Bangladesh are not only inhuman but shameful to the entire Muslim community as Islam is a religion of humanity, peace and love. The fundamentalists in Bangladesh are Islamic," he said.

Calling for peace and amity among all religious and ethnic groups in Assam, he said,

"The government should identify people with such fundamentalist and communal views in our country, or in Assam. We should also be vigilant so that such views do not spread not only among Muslims but also among other religions.”

Nurul Haque demanded intervention by the External Affairs Ministry in anti-Hindu incidents in Bangladesh.

Members of the All Bodoland Minority Students' Union (ABMSS) strongly condemned the action and staged a large protest in Tamolpur district.

Tyson Hussain, ABMS President, said his members recently staged a protest against the inhuman acts in Bangladesh and burnt the effigy of Dr Mohammad Yunus.”

He demanded the security of Hindus in Bangladesh as soon as possible

He said, "We have seen some religious fundamentalists making anti-India comments in Bangladesh. Those Bangladeshis should not forget that India played a major role in itsfreedom struggle. If someone from Bangladesh makes anti-India comments, we Muslim minorities in Assam and India will never accept it.”

"I strongly condemn the atrocities committed against a Hindu man in Bangladesh. This cannot be the act of any sane person. All conscientious people should protest against it," Islamic scholar Maulana Nurul Amin Qasimi said.

A poor factory worker Dipu Chandra Das was brutally burnt alive by fundamentalist jihadists in the recent violence in Mangaldai in the presence of hundreds of office bearers, members and locals.

They strongly protested the action and demanded protection of the lives and property of the non-Muslim minority community in Bangladesh.

The protesting members demanded justice for Dipu Das and asked the Nobel Peace Committee to withdraw the Nobel Peace Prize given to the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh.

The protesters, led by Dr Sahir Bhuyan, Central Chief Advisor of Sadao Assam Garia-Maria-Deshi Jatiya Parishad, strongly condemned the brutal murder of Dipu Das.

He strongly condemned the threat of jihadist fundamentalists to isolate the North East, including Assam and demanded that India use military force if necessary to eradicate these jihadist fundamentalists.

The protesters strongly opposed and protested against the martyrdom of Bangladesh jihadi-fundamentalist leader Osman Hadi by bowing to the fundamentalists and demanded that Dipu Das be declared a martyr as soon as possible if he has the courage.
