Jubilant BJP workers gathered outside the party’s state headquarters in Kolkata on Monday, celebrating as early trends indicated the party’s lead in the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Holding posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, supporters raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” and cheered for Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, while also chanting against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). Many marked the moment by distributing sweets and sharing them with passersby.

“We plan to celebrate in a bigger way once the final results are declared, including playing with ‘aabir’ (gulaal),” said BJP worker Ankit Jaiswal.
