Hyderabad
An Amsterdam–Hyderabad KLM Airlines flight received a bomb threat email at the Hyderabad airport around midnight on Monday, prompting authorities to activate standard safety protocols. The aircraft landed safely at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at around 1 am, with all passengers and crew secure.
According to sources, the bomb threat email triggered a brief security scare at the airport. Following established procedures, security agencies closely monitored the flight and ensured a safe landing. Passengers were subjected to standard security checks after arrival.
Airport officials confirmed that all necessary safety measures were followed and no untoward incident was reported.
This is not the first such incident at the Hyderabad airport this month. On December 6, bomb threat emails were received on the airport’s customer support ID for two international flights — British Airways flight BA 277 from London Heathrow to Hyderabad and Kuwait Airways flight KU 373 from Kuwait to Hyderabad.
While the British Airways flight landed safely in Hyderabad at 5:25 am after security protocols were initiated, the Kuwait Airways flight returned to its departure airport, GMR Hyderabad Airport authorities had said.
