The Congress on Saturday greeted President Droupadi Murmu on her birthday and said her steadfast commitment to constitutional values, public service and the welfare of every citizen continues to inspire the nation.

In a post on X, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, "Birthday greetings to Hon'ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji."

"Wishing her good health and a long life," the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said.

Murmu, India's first tribal woman President, turned 68 on Saturday.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, "On behalf of the Indian National Congress, we convey our heartfelt birthday greetings to the Hon'ble President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu."

Her steadfast commitment to constitutional values, public service, and the welfare of every citizen continues to inspire the nation, Kharge said on X.

"May her guidance and dedication contribute to strengthening India's democratic ideals and inclusive progress," he said.
