The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday organized a large-scale cleanliness campaign across the national capital to commemorate 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
The initiative saw participation from senior BJP leaders, Members of Parliament, MLAs, ministers in the Delhi government, state office-bearers, and party workers. The campaign was carried out simultaneously in 256 blocks across Delhi.
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, accompanied by local MLA Abhay Verma, inaugurated the drive near the Laxmi Nagar Metro Station. Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra urged citizens to adopt responsible civic habits and pledged support for keeping public spaces free from litter.
He also appreciated the efforts of sanitation workers employed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), acknowledging their contribution in maintaining cleanliness across roads, residential areas, and public spaces in the city.
As part of the campaign, Delhi BJP general secretary (organisation) Pawan Rana, along with party leaders Vishnu Mittal and Sunil Yadav, participated in cleaning activities at the historic Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place.
In another part of the city, Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Satish Upadhyay and MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar joined volunteers in cleaning the premises of the Katyayani Devi Temple and a nearby dharamshala in Chhatarpur.

Party leaders said the campaign was intended to promote public awareness about hygiene and cleanliness while highlighting the Centre’s emphasis on sanitation and civic responsibility over the past 12 years. The drive also sought to encourage greater public participation in maintaining clean surroundings.
