A Pakistani citizen who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) into India in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district has been repatriated to Pakistan, the Indian Army said on Friday.
The individual, identified as Asad Khan, a resident of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was detained on June 12 after he inadvertently crossed into Indian territory near Simari village in Kupwara.
According to the Army’s Chinar Corps, Khan was handed back to Pakistani authorities on June 18 following the completion of necessary procedures.
In a statement, the Army said Khan was treated with dignity and compassion during his stay in India, reflecting the force’s commitment to humanitarian principles and professional conduct.
The Army added that his safe return highlighted its adherence to established protocols and its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of military professionalism while dealing with such cases.

Officials indicated that the crossing appeared to be inadvertent, and after verification of his identity and background, arrangements were made for his repatriation through the appropriate channels.
