The Delhi government has invited expressions of interest from PSUs, private companies, registered NGOs, trusts and individuals to adopt heritage monuments and contribute towards their maintenance and development under its 'Hamare Samarak, Hamara Gaurav' scheme.

The Department of Archaeology has invited contributors to become 'Monument Mitra' and voluntary fund maintenance or provide listed amenities at heritage sites, along with taking responsibility for their operation and maintenance, according to the department.

Under the scheme, a Monument Mitra will submit a vision document outlining the proposed development of amenities at each heritage site it seeks to adopt, besides detailing its contribution towards the maintenance of the monument.

The proposals will primarily be evaluated on the contributor's capacity, experience and success in delivering similar projects, as well as the proposed value addition to the selected heritage monuments, it said.

A monument mitra can choose any number of monuments for adoption or contribution from the list provided by the department, it said.
