Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Monday for medical evaluation after he reportedly experienced two episodes of unconsciousness last week, officials said.
According to sources, Dhankhar suffered two blackouts on January 10 while using the washroom. He later visited AIIMS for a routine medical check-up on Monday, following which doctors advised hospital admission to conduct further diagnostic tests, including an MRI scan.
“Doctors felt it would be best for him to be admitted for detailed examinations,” an official said.
Dhankhar has reportedly experienced similar episodes in the past during public engagements in Uttarakhand, Kerala, the Rann of Kutch, and New Delhi while serving as Vice President.
