A senior officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a detailed inspection of security arrangements along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu district, officials said on Saturday.
During the visit on Friday, Deputy Inspector General Shridhar Patil reviewed the prevailing security situation and assessed the operational effectiveness of the border security grid in the sensitive frontier areas.
As part of the inspection, Patil visited remote border police establishments, including posts at Malla Bharore, Jogwan and Pallanwala.
Officials said the exercise focused on evaluating operational preparedness, border domination strategies and the overall security framework in the border belt.
Patil was accompanied by Joginder Singh and other senior police officers during the inspection.
The DIG also interacted with personnel deployed in the forward areas and stressed the need for sustained vigilance, strong inter-agency coordination and effective security measures to prevent infiltration attempts and maintain peace in the region.

He further underlined the importance of building public confidence and maintaining close coordination with residents living in border villages, officials added.
