Prakash Abitkar on Monday said a joint meeting would be convened to resolve delays in transferring certain health centres and schools in Palghar district to the Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation.
The issue was raised in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly by Sneha Dubey Pandit, who said that despite orders issued by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis five years ago, the transfer of three health centres, 12 sub-centres and 116 schools to the municipal corporation had not been implemented.
Pandit said the delay was affecting administrative functioning and urged the government to ensure the decision was implemented soon.
Presiding officer Yogesh Sagar asked the minister to provide a timeline for resolving the matter.
Responding to the query, Abitkar said a joint meeting of the urban development, rural development and public health departments would be held within a month to settle the issue.
In reply to another question, Gulabrao Patil said several projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission had slowed down due to shortage of funds but the Centre had now sanctioned the required amount.
He said the state has 51,560 schemes under the mission, of which 26,499 have been completed so far.
During the discussion, MLAs Prakash Solanke, Narayan Kuche, Ratnakar Gutte and Tanaji Mutkule raised supplementary questions seeking details about delays in implementing drinking water schemes.

Patil said the Centre had recently issued certain guidelines and that pending funds would be released once the required formalities were completed.
