The 58-year-old Kaleem Khan of village Mangalpur in Kanpur can be seen tending to the sick and the injured cows inside a specially made cowshed inside his small house.

He and his family have been voluntarily helping the bovines for the past 12 years. Not only Kaleem Khan but all members of his family do this service. Shabana, Sultana, and Reena Khan routinely join the patriarch in tending to the sick cows. Everyone feeds the cows with their hands.

At any given time, all the members of this family can be seen discussing the health of a particular cow.

Their reputation as a family that serves the cows has spread far and wide.

Kaleem and his family have been involved in the service of the cows for 13 years. At any given time, one can see about a dozen cows inside the cowshed that are being taken care of by them. Many of them are sick and due to old age, do not give milk.

All members of the family pick the cow dung and feed the animals before taking their breakfast.

This family says that the service of the helpless and helpless animals is the work of religion. No one should mind this.

Shabana, Sultana, Reena Khan from the family who are working with Kaleem said that their campaign will strengthen Hindu-Muslim unity. They can connect people of all faiths through their campaign to serve the cow.

Kalim Khan takes care of cows, treats the sick bovines, and tends to the injured animals. He has taken the initiative to look after the injured cows and monitor their recovery.

He arranges fodder and water for them. Kalim Khan says the animals are not able to express their pain, so they need help. Some of the other Muslims from the village who have joined his campaign are: Atiq, Nizami, Arifa Khan, Alisha, Aamir Khan, Guddu, Munir, Rizwanur Rahman

This is a heartening initiative as it comes in the wake of a few heart-breaking incidents of mob lynching of Dalits and Muslims on suspicion of cow slaughter.

A group of Muslims being engaged in the service of the cows is a good message in the present times. These families say that every religion teaches peace, unity, and brotherhood. Serving animals is the duty of religion.
