Light to moderate rainfall was recorded in several parts of Rajasthan, including the capital Jaipur, due to the impact of a western disturbance, a local Met office said on Monday.

According to the Met department, light rain occurred at several places across the state during the 24 hours ending Monday morning.

Bhadra in Hanumangarh district recorded the highest rainfall at 9 mm. In Jaipur, drizzle was reported in many areas since early Monday morning, accompanied by cloudy skies and gusty winds, leading to a drop in temperatures.

Due to the partial impact of successive western disturbances, partly cloudy conditions are likely to persist in the coming days, and there are chances of light rain at isolated places in the eastern and northern parts of the state on March 26 and 27, the department said.

Light rain is likely to occur in parts of Bharatpur and Kota divisions on Monday, while weather conditions are expected to remain largely dry in most other regions over the next two to three days, the department said.

Another strong western disturbance is expected to become active over parts of the state between March 28 and 31, which may trigger thunderstorms and rainfall activity.
