Madhya Pradesh has secured the top position in the country in the Anaemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) Scorecard 2025-26 with an index score of 92.1, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said on Friday.

In a statement, Shukla described the achievement as a major milestone in the field of public health and credited it to the state government’s sustained efforts to improve maternal and child healthcare and reduce anaemia.

He congratulated the Health Department, the National Health Mission, ASHA workers, auxiliary nurse midwives (ANMs), allied departments, and frontline health staff for their contribution to the accomplishment.

According to Shukla, the state government remains committed to strengthening nutrition, improving maternal and child health indicators, and eliminating anaemia across the state. He said healthy citizens form the foundation of a developed Madhya Pradesh and reiterated the government’s resolve to maintain high standards in public health services.

Under the Anaemia Mukt Bharat campaign, the state has undertaken extensive awareness drives, routine health screenings, iron-folic acid supplementation, and nutrition-focused interventions on a mission mode basis, which have now shown positive results at the national level.

The statement noted that Madhya Pradesh performed strongly in iron-folic acid supplementation coverage across multiple categories. The state recorded 80.4 per cent coverage among children aged six to 59 months and 95 per cent coverage among children aged five to nine years, adolescents, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
