Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said the monsoon session of the state legislative assembly will commence on August 31.

Talking to reporters after chairing a meeting of the state cabinet, Sawant said the assembly session will be summoned from August 31 but the duration of the session will be decided later.

"The number of days of the sitting will be finalised later," he said.

The state budget 2026-27 had already been passed during the previous assembly session, the CM added.
