Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lauded the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Team for its aerial display during celebrations at the Somnath Temple, saying the spectacle filled every heart with “deep joy.”
In a post on X, Modi said the skies over Somnath witnessed a remarkable blend of pride, valour and devotion through the flypast.

“In Somnath today, the skies witnessed a magnificent confluence of pride and valour. The Indian Air Force's Suryakiran Team showcased a breathtaking flypast. This spirit of Bhakti and Shakti filled every heart with deep joy,” the prime minister wrote.
Earlier in the day, Modi released a commemorative stamp and coin to mark the 75th anniversary of the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple.
Addressing the gathering during the Somnath Amrit Mahotsav, he described the occasion as spiritually significant and spoke of his long association with the temple.
The prime minister said the celebration marked 75 years since the consecration of the modern shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.

He also said Somnath Temple continues to symbolise resilience and continuity even a millennium after its destruction.
The celebrations are part of the broader Somnath Swabhiman Parv, which marks 1,000 years since the first recorded attack on the temple by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026.

The Somnath Temple, one of Hinduism’s twelve Jyotirlingas, remains one of India’s most significant spiritual and cultural landmarks.
