Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said the newly inaugurated Nausena Shaurya Vatika in Lucknow would serve as a source of inspiration for young people, promote patriotism and help visitors understand the Indian Navy’s contributions, sacrifices and technological strength.

The naval-themed memorial and open-air museum was inaugurated jointly by Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Developed through collaboration between the Indian Navy and the Uttar Pradesh government, the facility is expected to emerge as a major attraction in the state capital.

Welcoming Singh to his parliamentary constituency, the chief minister expressed gratitude to Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and the Indian Navy team for completing the project within the planned timeline.

Adityanath said the museum would add a new dimension to Lucknow’s identity by complementing its rich cultural heritage with a centre dedicated to India’s defence achievements and maritime history.

Highlighting the significance of the decommissioned warship INS Gomati, which forms the centrepiece of the museum, he noted that the vessel protected India’s maritime interests for years before being retired from service in 2022. Its preservation on the banks of the Gomti River, he said, would motivate future generations.

According to the chief minister, the museum will provide young visitors with insights into naval operations, the demanding conditions in which defence personnel serve and the challenges they overcome while safeguarding the nation.

He reiterated that respect for the armed forces is an essential part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India, adding that soldiers and naval personnel ensure national security, enabling citizens to live peacefully and contribute to the country’s progress.

Emphasising the link between security and development, Adityanath said sustainable growth is possible only in a secure environment and stressed the need for citizens to honour the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces.

He also underlined the importance of maintaining strong defence capabilities, stating that military strength earns a nation global respect. While peace remains a core value, he said decisive action becomes necessary whenever national security is threatened.

The chief minister expressed confidence that Nausena Shaurya Vatika, along with the recently inaugurated Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, would become important centres showcasing the bravery and dedication of India’s armed forces.

He further suggested that decommissioned military assets, including tanks and other equipment, should be displayed at prominent public locations to foster patriotism and encourage youth to pursue careers in the defence services.
