Amidst the protests and tension over remarks on Prophet Mohammad in many cities, a Muslim family from J&K’s Rajouri town was relieved to see their grievously injured son airlifted from Dhaka to Delhi thanks to intervention by Prime Minister's Office.

Aslam Lone, the father of Shobaib Lone, told the media, ”I am grateful to Prime Minister. I feel that the people who have such mature and caring leadership, should not worry about anything.”

“I want to salute Prime Minister Modiji standing on one leg,” a visibly emotional father said after the government had arranged to airlift his son in an air ambulance.

Aslam said his son had completed his MBBS degree from Barind Medical College, Dhaka and on June 2, he along with his two friends was to catch a flight to India. On the way to the airport, they met with a road accident in which two persons died, and while Sohaib Lone was injured and admitted to a local hospital.

When the family knew about the accident five days later, Aslam Lone flew to Dhaka.

“We faced many problems like language, currency. However, the biggest problem was the cost of living. Everything here was so expensive. What I can buy for 10 rupees in Delhi or Jammu costs me Rs 500 here, he says in a video interview with ANI. The hospital slapped a Rs 12 lakh bill and yet there was no change in Shohaib’s condition, who seems to be on a ventilator. Again, the family was feeling helpless for being in an alien land and had no way of dealing with the situation.

In the meanwhile, one of the members of the family met BJP state chief Ravinder Raina as the latter was on a visit to their town. “Ravinder Rainaji regretted that he didn’t know about the incident earlier. He promised us that he will get Sohaib back and will speak to Modiji,” Aslam told ANI.
