Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday took stock of preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit on December 25, during which the newly built Rashtra Prerna Sthal will be formally inaugurated.
According to an official statement, the Chief Minister said the memorial complex, to be dedicated to the nation on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will stand as a strong symbol of national awareness, cultural values, and collective pride. Vajpayee’s birth anniversary is observed across the country on December 25.
CM Yogi said the statues of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee installed at the Rashtra Prerna Sthal would serve as a source of inspiration for future generations, encouraging them to imbibe ideals of national unity, Integral Humanism and self-reliant India.
During the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure flawless arrangements related to security, traffic regulation, protocol, hospitality and crowd management, given the Prime Minister’s presence. He underlined that there would be zero tolerance for lapses at any level.
He instructed that all remaining work — including landscaping, gardens, museum exhibits, amphitheatre facilities and beautification of approach roads — be completed within the prescribed timeframe. With nearly two lakh people expected to attend the programme from across the state, CM Yogi reviewed transportation plans, parking arrangements, bus routes, control rooms and medical facilities, and ordered the deployment of nodal officers for each bus cluster, parking zone and entry gate.
The Chief Minister also asked the police and district administration to put in place multi-tier security along VVIP routes, at the helipad, the main venue and other gathering points. He stressed the importance of clear signage for traffic diversions, parking areas and pedestrian movement to facilitate smooth public access. Coordination among departments handling media, reception, cultural programmes and protocol was also emphasised.
