Jaipur

Hundreds of women participated in the 'Nari Shakti for Viksit Bharat Run' organised here on Friday to promote women empowerment and spread awareness about the vision of a developed India.

The event was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the aegis of 'Mera Yuva (MY) Bharat', a government-designated autonomous body that functions as a youth engagement and participation platform.

The run began from Chandpole and concluded at Badi Chaupar, covering a distance of about 1.5 km. Women from diverse fields, including students, entrepreneurs and sportspersons, participated enthusiastically in large numbers.

The theme of the event was '#NariShaktiVandan'.

It was flagged off by Rajasthan minister Manju Baghmar and former BJP MLA Alka Gurjar. Former mayor Kusum Yadav and several other prominent women were also present on the occasion.

Among the participants were Commonwealth Games 2022 bronze medallist Pooja Sihag and World Police and Fire Games 2025 gold medallist Sub-Inspector Kachnar Choudhary.

State Director of MY Bharat Devendra Kumar Vyas said the initiative aimed to promote the 'Fit India' message while highlighting the role of women in nation-building.

Participants displayed high enthusiasm throughout the event, creating an energetic atmosphere along the route, organisers said.
