A school in Kulgam, South Kashmir, has become the cynosure of all eyes after achieving 100 per cent results, with many students scoring above 99 per cent marks in the recently announced 10th class results by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The school is Ayesha Ali Academy, founded by a local doctor who lives in the USA. The school is run by the Ayesha Ali  Foundation, named after two children of an expatriate doctor, Dr Feroze Ahmad Padder, who died in a car accident in the USA. The school is located in the town of Kulgam, which was once a stronghold of the pro-Pakistani terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen and its overground network of Jamait-e-Islami.

In his address, Dr Padder, Chairman of the Foundation, writes that after losing his first daughter and son (Ayesha and Ali) in a tragic car accident on the evening of October 31st, 2006, in the USA, he was struck by the news of this great tragedy and unbearable loss.

He says he first started questioning God, but “within seconds was BORN the idea of AAA. I firmly believed that Allah Almighty wanted me to educate hundreds and thousands of Ayeshas and Alis-- imparting upon them similar knowledge and skills that my own children would have achieved in the USA.”

Young students of the Ayesha Ali Academy conducting a conversation:

Dr Padder comes from an underprivileged family in Kulgam. His father died in his very early childhood and his brother was only 6 months old.

“Allah Almighty provided me the best possible education from the premier institutions in the world (not less than any privileged person). He blessed me and most of my siblings more than any of us would have ever imagined or dreamed of. I hope to provide the same chance to any orphan or underprivileged child like me. With that intention, Ayesha and Ali Padder Foundation will grant hundreds of merit and need-based scholarships for students in AA Academy.”

Students of the academy participating in Seerat Conference:

From the website of the AAA, it seems the school is a coeducational institution with students of high calibre.
