Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has written to Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators of all states and Union Territories, seeking their cooperation for the smooth and transparent conduct of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, according to an official statement issued by the Ministry on Monday.
The Ministry stated that, in view of the ongoing severe heatwave conditions in several parts of the country, the Union Minister specifically requested state authorities to ensure adequate facilities and basic amenities for candidates appearing in the examination.
In his letter, Pradhan urged state governments to direct district administrations as well as schools, colleges, universities and other institutions serving as examination centres to make necessary arrangements for students’ convenience and safety.
He highlighted the need for essential facilities such as safe drinking water, proper seating arrangements, operational fans or coolers, clean washrooms, shaded waiting areas, uninterrupted electricity supply and portable toilets wherever required.
The Education Minister also stressed that the welfare and comfort of students should remain a top priority. In this regard, he appealed to all state governments to ensure adequate transportation arrangements for candidates on the day of the examination.
Pradhan expressed confidence that all states and Union Territories would extend full support to ensure that the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination is conducted in a fair, transparent and smooth manner.
