Rajasthan Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham on Wednesday alleged that widespread irregularities took place in recruitment examinations during the previous Congress government’s tenure, asserting that the present BJP administration is acting decisively against those responsible.
Addressing a press conference after a public grievance redressal programme (jansunwai) at the BJP state headquarters here, Bedham said multiple instances of malpractice linked to paper leaks have come to light. He claimed that OMR sheets were tampered with to allow candidates who had secured zero or even negative marks to figure in merit lists, calling it a serious injustice to deserving and hardworking youth.
The minister said the BJP government is committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in recruitment processes. “There is no place for paper mafias or criminals in Rajasthan. Strict and unbiased action will be taken against every individual found guilty, fully in accordance with the law,” he said.
Bedham also accused the opposition of attempting to revive its political standing through misleading narratives. He said allegations being raised by Congress leaders were an effort to divert attention from the alleged failures of their previous administration.
During the jansunwai, hundreds of party workers and citizens from various districts presented their grievances before the minister. Bedham said several complaints were resolved on the spot, while officials were directed to ensure time-bound disposal of pending cases.
Among those who raised concerns was a former sarpanch and Congress worker from Bharatpur district. The minister instructed officials to take swift action on the complaint, underscoring that the government would not discriminate while addressing public issues.
