A constable of the Special Armed Force (SAF) allegedly shot his uncle following a minor argument in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, leaving him seriously injured, police said on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Ravi Gurjar, is posted with the SAF’s 5th Battalion in Morena. The incident occurred in the Sumawali area on Friday morning after he reportedly had a dispute with his uncle, Raju Gurjar.

According to police, the constable allegedly fired at his uncle using a country-made pistol during the argument. The bullet struck Raju Gurjar in the thigh, leaving him critically injured.

The victim was initially taken to the Morena district hospital for primary treatment before being referred to a hospital in Gwalior for advanced medical care.

After the shooting, the accused fled the scene, police said.

Officials added that the father and uncle of the accused had recently separated following a family dispute, which may have contributed to the tensions.

A police officer from Sumawali Police Station said the injured man’s statement is currently being recorded at the Gwalior hospital.
