The Noida International Airport, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, has unveiled a Sarus-inspired logo that blends Uttar Pradesh’s cultural heritage with its ambitions for modern and sustainable development.
According to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the logo prominently features the Sarus crane as its central motif. The Sarus, known as the state bird, symbolises ecological balance, tradition, and regional identity, making it a fitting representation of the state’s roots.
Officials said the logo has been crafted with sleek, unified lines to convey speed, efficiency, and seamless connectivity—key attributes of a world-class aviation hub. The design reflects the airport’s positioning as a major gateway not just for domestic travel, but also for global connectivity.
A distinctive blue-green gradient has been incorporated into the design, representing a fusion of technology and environmental consciousness. This aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s emphasis on sustainable infrastructure and green development practices.
“The flying Sarus in the logo symbolises progress, confidence and an Uttar Pradesh moving towards new heights,” the government said in a statement. It added that the visual identity complements the broader vision of transforming the state into a global centre for investment, trade, and connectivity.
The logo also reinforces the idea of “development with heritage,” a theme that underscores the government’s effort to preserve cultural identity while advancing large-scale infrastructure projects.
Officials noted that the symbol is intended to give the airport a distinctive international identity, presenting it not only as a transport hub but also as a reflection of India’s cultural richness, modern outlook, and sustainability goals.
