A group of young men today made a human pyramid to give a salute to Sufi Saint Baba Makhdoom Sahib, the 14 century scholar and Sufi at his shrine in Mumbai’s Mahim area on the occasion of Janamasthami.

Human Pyramids are made on the occasion of Janamsthami by contestants across Maharashtra. Each team makes an effort to reach the terracotta Picher to commemorate the youthful antics of Lord Krishna, who was fond of milk, butter and curd and at times stole these from the hanging pots placed by his mother.

According to Mahim Trust, ths Govinda Boys gesture of giving salami (salute) to Baba Makhdoom Shah dargah and chanting Makhdoom sahib Bab Ki jai symbolised India’s securlar tradition.
