New Delhi
Security at the Delhi Legislative Assembly was briefly compromised on Monday after a speeding car crashed through one of its entry gates and entered the premises.
According to police, the vehicle—bearing a registration from Uttar Pradesh—forced its way through Gate No. 2, damaging the iron barrier before driving inside the complex.
Officials said the driver stepped out shortly after entering, placed a bouquet within the premises, and then fled the scene in the same vehicle. Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force stationed at the gate were unable to intercept the car due to its high speed.
A thorough check of the object left behind revealed no suspicious or hazardous material, easing immediate security concerns.
An eyewitness said the white car remained inside the complex for a few minutes before the driver sped away as security staff approached.
