Mathura
Security has been intensified across Mathura on the 33rd anniversary of the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition, with the Krishna Janmabhoomi–Shahi Idgah Mosque complex turned into a high-security zone.
According to officials, multiple checkpoints have been set up across the city, and security forces are on maximum alert to prevent any disturbance.
Speaking to ANI, Mathura Superintendent of Police (Crime) Avnish Mishra said strict checking protocols are in place to monitor movement in sensitive zones.
“Anyone without a proper identity card and who isn't authorised to enter is constantly being checked. The force is on full alert. As in previous years, adequate deployment has been made and constant checking is underway. All information inputs are being verified. Normal life continues — traffic is running smoothly, and school children are going to school. There is no traffic diversion as of now,” Mishra said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar added that multiple layers of security and surveillance are in place across Mathura.
“Preparations for December 6 are complete. Local police, external forces, the PAC and the RAF have been deployed. Flag marches are being carried out at all important locations. Intensive checking is being done along key routes, hotels, inns, restaurants, bus and railway stations,” he noted.
Kumar added that over 150 people identified as potential threats to law and order have already been restricted, and authorities are keeping a close watch on online activities.
“Random checks are being conducted, and we are monitoring social media. Any action affecting law and order will not be tolerated, and strict action will follow,” he cautioned.
Security has also been reinforced across other districts in Uttar Pradesh, with Ayodhya, Varanasi and nearby regions on high alert. In Varanasi, heavy deployment has been reported at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
