Severe cold conditions continued to grip Rajasthan on Thursday, with dense fog enveloping several parts of the state during the morning hours, the Meteorological Department said.

Weather remained dry across the state over the past 24 hours. However, moderate to dense fog was reported at many places, while cold wave and “cold day” conditions prevailed in several districts due to the persistent chill.

Pali recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 4.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Fatehpur and Lunkaransar at 4.4 degrees, Sirohi at 4.7 degrees, and Pilani and Sikar at 6 degrees Celsius.

The hill station of Mount Abu registered a minimum temperature of 3.3 degrees Celsius, the department said.

According to the Met office, dense fog and severe cold conditions are likely to persist over the next few days.
