People from far and wide are visiting the field of Tyyab Hussain located in Pinagwa block of Nuh district to see his bumper Bajra (pearl millet) crop. Farmers from Haryana, Rajasthan, and Nuh district are coming every day to visit his field and are wondering about the millet crop. The corn is about five feet long as against the average of 1.5 feet.
On average, a barleycorn is about 9 inches to 15 inches long all over India. In Tayyab Hussain’s field, each corn of Bajra is about 3.5 to 5.5 feet long.

As per estimates, Tayyab’s crop will yield about 32 quintals per acre of land. In Mewat, generally, the yield is 6 to 12 quintals.Tayyb Hussain, lives in the Bandar Ka Bas locality of village Jhimrawat. He says, “Some time ago, I saw an advertisement for millet seed on my mobile. The advertisement claimed that the corn will grow to three and a half to five feet and yield about 32 quintals in one acre.
This millet seed is from Turkey. He spent Rs 700 on ordering one kg of millet seed online. Hussain had sown the seed on one acre of land he took on lease from Laxman Das of his village. Now Hussain's crop will ripen and be ready for harvesting in the next two weeks.

Hussain was helped by his son Tasim in the field. Confident as he was in his farming skills, Tayyb ordered millet seeds online from Turkey.
Despite the low rainfall, Tayyab will have a bumper crop. Not only Tayyab will reap a rich harvest of pearl millet and also get very food fodder for animals.

It may be mentioned that The United Nations is celebrating 2023 as the International Year of the Millet to promote this superfood.
