Not a single terrorist managed to infiltrate into Kashmir through the Line of Control (LoC) this year, with security forces successfully foiling every attempt and maintaining full domination along the border, Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir Frontier Ashok Yadav said on Monday.
Addressing reporters on the 61st Raising Day of the BSF, Yadav said four infiltration bids were made across the LoC in 2025 — all of which were thwarted. In coordinated operations with the Army, eight infiltrators were killed while five others were forced to retreat.
“The BSF, along with the Indian Army, ensured effective and impactful domination of the LoC, which led to the neutralisation of all infiltration attempts this year from the Kashmir Valley,” the IG said. He added that the force also played a key role in securing the hinterland, including during the 2025 Shri Amarnath Yatra.
According to Yadav, surveillance has been intensified on the 69 active launching pads located across the LoC, where an estimated 100–120 terrorists are waiting to cross over. “Various terrorist training camps are also under the close scrutiny of the BSF intelligence wing,” he noted.
The BSF Kashmir Frontier is manning the 343-km LoC in coordination with the Army while also securing key installations and assisting police and other agencies to maintain internal security.
Operation Sindoor Cited as Major Achievement
Calling Operation Sindoor the most remarkable achievement of 2025, Yadav said BSF units and the Army jointly carried out decisive and precision fire assaults on Pakistan posts and terrorist launch pads.
“All BSF units of the Kashmir Frontier, including artillery regiments, executed heavy and accurate shelling on enemy posts and bunkers, causing huge casualties to Pakistani troops, major damage to their forward posts, and complete destruction of some terrorist launch pads,” he said. The operation, he added, received appreciation from the top national leadership.
Mahila Troops Deployed Along LoC
Yadav also highlighted the deployment of BSF Mahila Troops in forward and high-altitude areas near the LoC, including at round-the-clock checkpoints on approach roads. Their presence aims to counter female couriers and sympathisers assisting terror and smuggling networks.

“Our Mahila troops have gained the trust of women in border villages and are playing a key role in countering anti-national activities,” the IG said.
