Three members of a family were killed and three others injured after their car hit a road divider and then rammed into a truck in Janjgir-Champa district early Tuesday, police said.
The accident took place around 2 am near a toll plaza on the Champa-Faraswani road when the family was returning from a wedding reception, officials said.
Police said the victims, residents of the Niharika area of neighbouring Korba district, had travelled to Champa for the function and were heading home when the crash occurred.
Their car first struck the divider and then collided with a parked truck.
The deceased were identified as Mongra Soni (45), Devendra Soni (22), and two-and-a-half-year-old Priyansh, who died on the spot.
The three injured occupants were taken to a hospital in Champa for treatment. Police said one of them is in critical condition, while the other two are stable.
