The India Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds and hot, humid conditions across parts of Andhra Pradesh over the next five days.
According to the Meteorological Centre, isolated areas in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema are expected to witness thunderstorms with lightning on April 10, along with gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kmph.
The IMD said similar conditions are likely to persist on April 11, particularly over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema, with continued thunderstorm activity and gusty winds.
On April 12, gusty winds of 30–40 kmph are expected at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, while hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail across Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema.
From April 13 to 16, the department has predicted continued hot and humid weather at isolated locations across these regions.
Meteorologists attributed the prevailing conditions to a north-south trough extending from interior Odisha to the Gulf of Mannar, passing through parts of central and southern India. Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas is influencing the current weather pattern.
