Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday welcomed the decision of a Delhi court to discharge AAP supremo and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his former deputy Manish Sisodia in the excise policy case, asserting that “truth always triumphs.”

A Delhi court discharged Kejriwal and Sisodia in the case, refusing to take cognisance of the chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation. Apart from the two senior leaders, 21 other accused were also discharged.

Reacting to the verdict, Mann said in a post on X, “Truth always triumphs. AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal ji and Delhi’s former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia ji have been acquitted by the Hon’ble Delhi Court in the liquor scam case. This decision of the Hon’ble Court has brought the truth to light. With time, the truth in all other cases will also be revealed.”

Punjab Aam Aadmi Party president and cabinet minister Aman Arora also welcomed the court’s decision, alleging that the BJP-led Centre had misused central agencies to target the party.

Citing the verdict, Arora said justice may be delayed but not denied, adding that the court’s order had once again exposed what he described as a “false and fabricated” case aimed at defaming the Aam Aadmi Party and its leadership.
