P. Venkataramanan, MLA-elect from Mylapore and treasurer of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, on Friday expressed confidence that the party has the required support to form the next government in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to reporters amid intense political activity over government formation, Venkataramanan dismissed concerns over whether TVK had secured enough backing to cross the majority mark in the 234-member Assembly.

When asked if the party had obtained the definitive numbers needed for a stable government, he responded with a firm “sure,” signalling confidence in the party’s position.

On questions regarding the possible swearing-in of party chief Vijay, Venkataramanan said an official update would be issued shortly.

“We will update you in another hour’s time,” he told reporters, without disclosing further details.

The TVK treasurer, however, refrained from commenting on specific alliance arrangements or support from other political parties.
