The Jamiat handle quoted him saying," Udaipur incident is a disgrace to humanity; It is disgrace to humanity & an act of defaming Islam. No matter whosoever is a killer, no one has the authority to take the law and order into his own hands."

The handle also released a press note stating the same.

Another religious body Jamaat-e-Islami Hind also took to Twitter to condemn the brutal events of Udaipur. They said, "the Udaipur incident is barbaric, Uncivilized and there is no room for Justification of violence in Islam...Peace should not be disturbed. Nobody should try to take the advantage of this ugly crime..."

Dr. Khwaja Iftikhar Ahmed, President, Inter Faith Harmony Foundation of India, had condemned the "barbaric acts by the radicals that have forced the community to hang their heads in shame."

In a statement, he said, "The most brutal killing of Kanhiya at the hands of two radicals Riyaz and Ghaus has put our head in shame. Their open admission of the crime in the name of Islam makes it more heinous. Their taking pride in doing so shakes the human conscience to the core. How come and how can a person reach such a level of cruelty and inhumanity?"

He added that there is no room for such acts in a civilized society, he says, "As a one single solid and secular nation, It is time to jointly fight this menace. Let us stay together to maintain interfaith harmony to defeat the malicious designs of anti-India and anti-peace forces. This incident appears to be a deliberate attempt by these two misguided extremist Muslims and their masters to write the most dangerous narrative about Islam and Muslims..."

He requests the community by saying, "We, the Muslims of India have to take an absolutely unambiguous position against such perpetrators of violence to whom I term as the first generation enemy of  Religion Islam and of the universally accepted established norms of morality and ethics. Here is a word of caution any communal backlash or flare-up in any part of the country would serve none but the enemy. This is a most shameful and inhuman act committed in the name of the Prophet of Islam who is known for his unparalleled mercy and forgiveness. It is not only condemnable but is absolutely unpardonable too.."
