Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed the Housing and Urban Planning Department to roll out a new One-Time Settlement Scheme (OTS-2026) to ensure speedy resolution of long-pending residential and commercial housing allotment cases.
Chairing a departmental review meeting, Adityanath said delays in settling dues and resolving disputes hinder the progress of housing schemes and cause unnecessary hardship to citizens, according to an official statement.
The chief minister emphasised that pending payments and disputed allotments across state housing projects adversely affect development work and revenue generation. He called for a solution-oriented mechanism that offers relief to genuine allottees while safeguarding the department’s legitimate financial interests.
Referring to the earlier OTS-2020, the statement said a large number of cases had been resolved under the scheme, though several allottees were unable to make final payments due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the meeting, officials presented detailed data on default cases across residential and commercial complexes in the state. Adityanath directed that OTS-2026 be made more practical and beneficial, with provisions for rebates on lump-sum payments and the option to clear dues through instalments.
He stressed that the scheme should be people-centric, offering simple and transparent choices, and that all applications must be disposed of within a fixed time-frame.

The chief minister said the new initiative would provide relief to thousands of allottees while also boosting departmental revenue. He further instructed officials to ensure wide publicity of the scheme and to make the entire process online, transparent and user-friendly.
