Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said India is asserting its strength on the global stage and expressed confidence that the country will soon become the world’s third-largest economy.
Addressing members of the Indian diaspora in Singapore, Yogi said every Indian should take pride in what he described as the rise of “New India.” He noted that India’s rapid economic growth and expanding global presence reflect transformative changes over the past decade.
He also praised the diaspora community for maintaining strong emotional ties with their homeland. “Even while living far away, your affection for the motherland inspires us to work with renewed energy for India’s development,” he said.
Highlighting India’s progress in the digital and start-up ecosystem, Yogi referred to the recent AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi. He said India has made remarkable strides in areas such as digital infrastructure and entrepreneurship, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision for driving technological transformation.
The Chief Minister also spoke about Uttar Pradesh’s development trajectory, stating that the state has undergone significant change in recent years. He said that improvements in law and order, infrastructure and economic policy have contributed to the state’s growth, adding that Uttar Pradesh now presents a blend of heritage and modern development.
Earlier in the day, Yogi met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and thanked him for the warm welcome. In a post on X, Yogi said India-Singapore ties have been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening new opportunities in investment, infrastructure and economic cooperation. Wong described Uttar Pradesh as one of India’s fastest-growing regions and noted Singaporean investments in logistics, connectivity and infrastructure in the state.
During his visit, Yogi also held discussions with Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs. Talks focused on strengthening cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Singapore in areas such as investment facilitation, infrastructure development, skill training and the digital economy.
The Chief Minister met business leaders as well, including Prasoon Mukherjee, Founder and Chairman of Universal Success Enterprises Limited, who said land has been allotted in Noida for a logistics park project. Mukherjee added that discussions also covered upcoming data centre clusters near Lucknow, expressway development around Kanpur and real estate investments amounting to ₹6,000 crore.
Yogi also met Sumit Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director of Golden State Capital Pte. Ltd., to explore opportunities in infrastructure, emerging technologies and data centre development in Uttar Pradesh.
As part of his visit, the Chief Minister toured ITE College Central and its Aerospace Centre, underscoring the focus on skill development and advanced technology collaboration.

Yogi arrived in Singapore on Monday as part of his official outreach to attract investment and strengthen economic partnerships.
