Zafar Kamil’s “Hauslon Ki Udaan” selected for Sahitya Akademy award

The children's poetry collection 'Hauslon Ki Udaan' by Zaraf Kamali has been selected for the Sahitya Akademi Award, 2022 in Urdu language.

This award is to be given in the category of children's literature.

It was written by Professor of Persian and Literature in ZA Islamia College, Siwan. Written by Zafar Kamali.

Originally a resident of Ranipur, Siwan, Zafar Kamali's original name is Zafarullah.

After graduation in Urdu and Persian from Patna University, he did his PhD on the personality and work of satirist Ahmad Jamal Pasha.

Since then he has been studying and teaching. He is continuously enriching Urdu literature with his writings in genres like research, satirical poetry, rubai writing and children's poetry.

Among his important books are 'Maqatib Riyazia' (1986), 'Zarafatnama' (2005), 'Mut'Allikate Ahmad Jamal Pasha' (2006), 'Rubaiyan' (2010), 'Khake Justuju (2017), Zarbe Sukhan (2019), Ahmad Jamal Pasha (2022) etc. are prominent.

The third book related to children's poetry was 'Housalon Ki Udaan', which was published in 2020. In Bihar, his poem 'Mutashyar' is taught in the twelfth class.

NCERT has also included his poem in standard 4 syllabus. Prof Safdar Imam Kadri, Director Bazm-e-Sadaf International and Prof Tauqeer from College of Commerce have praised Zafar on his achievements.
