Preparations for what can be termed the first such event organized by a Muslim organization in India, are on for the national robotics and coding competition in Hyderabad. This competition will also see students competing in other indoor sports like shooting which is being orgasnised by All India Majlis Tamir-e-Millat.

The event is scheduled on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Islam's Prophet Muhammad, which falls in the first week of October.

Students and youth of all religions and regions are eligible to join the competition. Besides, the usual competitions like writing, elocution, quiz, and Quran recitation will also be part of the event.

It was last year on the Milad-un-Nabi day that blood donation camps were organized in the city and the trend of lending contemporary meaning to the pious day began.

The organizers expect some 4000 participants to attend the function and they are making arrangements for their lodging and boarding.

All India Majlis-e-Mashawrat General Secretary Umar Ahmed Shafiq said that the purpose of organizing these competitions is to propagate the message of Prophet Muhammad.

Sports competitions to be organized on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi include cricket, football, volleyball, kabaddi, wrestling, and shooting. Robotics and coding competitions will be organized under technology competitions.

He said that robotics and coding competitions are being organized so that more youth can be involved in the celebrations of Milad-un-Nabi.
