Kerala-based model and Mrs Kerala Global 2025 runner-up Harsha Sunny has been arrested by Customs officials at Mumbai airport in connection with an alleged narcotics smuggling case involving over 11 kg of hydroponic marijuana.
According to reports, the 28-year-old was intercepted by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) after arriving from Bangkok. Her luggage was flagged during routine surveillance, following which officials conducted a detailed inspection. A total of 12 vacuum-sealed packets containing a green substance were reportedly recovered and later confirmed through NDPS field testing to be hydroponic cannabis. The estimated value of the seized contraband is around ₹11.82 crore.
Sunny, who has a background in modelling and pageantry, was a runner-up in Mrs Kerala Global 2025 and maintains an active presence on social media. Her Instagram profile features modelling shoots and travel content, including recent posts from Bangkok, where she captioned a photo, “Serving looks with a Bangkok backdrop.”
Following her arrest, she was produced before the Fort Court in Mumbai and has been remanded to judicial custody under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

During preliminary questioning, she reportedly claimed she had met an acquaintance during her travel who persuaded her to carry the luggage to India. Authorities are now investigating possible wider links to an international drug trafficking network and tracing the intended recipients of the consignment.
The case remains under investigation as agencies examine whether the incident is part of a larger cross-border smuggling route involving multiple Indian cities.
