A career-best four-wicket haul by Renuka Singh followed by an unbeaten 174-run partnership between Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma for the first wicket helped the Indian women beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match One Day International series.

This incidentally was also the highest chase by a team in women’s ODI history.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to field. Her decision was proved correct as Renuka Singh ran through the Lankan top-order to finish her spell with 4 wickets for 28 runs.

Chasing, the Indian opening pair took the Lankan bowlers to the cleaners reaching the target in just 25.4 overs.

Mandhana scored an unbeaten 94 while Shafali Verma was not out on 71.

Renuka Singh was the man of the match.
