The Indian cricket team is expected to fly to Australia on October 6 ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup to attend a special preparation camp.

The team will leave two days after the T20I series against South Africa is over.

A reserve team, captained most likely by Shikhar Dhawan, will be announced by the selectors for the three one-day internationals against South Africa from October 6-11.

Prior to travelling to Brisbane for two additional exhibition matches against Australia and New Zealand before the tournament begins, India will train there till October 13.

The team is scheduled to play a practice match against Western Australia there as well.

Up to five members of the T20 World Cup team, including the standbys, have never played in Australia.

Suryakumar Yadav and Harshal Patel travelled once with the U-19 team in 2009.

Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Hooda were in Australia with the India U-19 in 2013.
