The Indian men's team emerged champions after defeating hosts Japan 4-1 in the final played at Kakamigahara, Japan. Meanwhile, the women's side secured the bronze medal with a convincing 3-0 victory over South Korea in the third-place playoff.

In a message posted on social media, the Prime Minister praised the men's team for their outstanding display throughout the tournament.

He said the young players demonstrated remarkable skill, determination and teamwork, culminating in a dominant performance in the final. Modi added that the title triumph reflected the increasing popularity of hockey among India's youth and wished the team continued success in the future.

India's victory in the men's final was powered by a brilliant hat-trick from Ashish Tani Purti, who scored in the 2nd, 28th and 34th minutes. Captain Ketan Kushwaha also got on the scoresheet in the 30th minute, while Japan's only goal came through Numada Gaku in the 52nd minute.
