Shooter Bhavesh Shekhawat emerged as the early leader after Stage 1 of the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event at the National Selection Trials T3 held at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi on Friday.
The Rajasthan marksman topped the standings with a total score of 294–11x across three series, recording scores of 99, 99 and 96.
Olympian Anish Bhanwala secured the second position with 291–11x (97, 98, 96), while Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu finished third with a score of 291 (96, 98, 97).
National champion Suraj Sharma followed closely behind, placing fourth with 290–9x (98, 95, 97).
The trials will continue on Saturday with the 10m rifle qualification and finals, along with Stage 2 and the finals of the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event.
