Nepalese civil society group Rastriya Ekta Abhiyan held an anti-China demonstration in Birgunj on Friday to protest “Chinese encroachment of Nepal's land at different places, unofficial blockade by Chinese at Tatopani and Rasuwa border crossings, and Chinese interference in the internal matter of Nepal” among other things.

The protesters burnt pictures of Chinese President, XI Jingping. It was the second protest by the Rastriya Ekata Abhiyan which held a similar demonstration in Biratnagar on Thursday.

The Rastriya Ekata Abhiyan has also alleged that the Chinese intelligence agency - Ministry of State Security (MSS) - of intensifying its influence in Nepal.

Protesters also flayed China's unofficial blockade at border points with the northern neighbour not allowing Nepali medical students to return for their studies in Chinese universities and thereby jeopardizing their future.
