The United Arab Emirates has expressed profound sorrow and extended its heartfelt condolences to the Kingdom of Morocco following the devastating floods that struck the Safi region, resulting in the loss of dozens of lives, numerous injuries, and extensive damage to property and infrastructure.

In an official statement released by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the government conveyed its deepest sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic incident. The ministry also expressed solidarity with the Moroccan leadership and people, acknowledging the immense suffering caused by the natural disaster.

The statement emphasised the UAE’s shared sense of grief with Morocco during this difficult period and reaffirmed the country’s longstanding commitment to standing by its international partners in times of crisis. The Ministry offered prayers for the victims and wished a speedy and complete recovery for all those who were injured in the floods.

The UAE also recognised the efforts of Moroccan authorities and emergency response teams working tirelessly to provide relief, rescue survivors, and restore normalcy in the affected areas. Highlighting the strong bilateral ties between the two nations, the statement underlined the UAE’s readiness to support Morocco as it undertakes recovery and rebuilding efforts following the disaster.

The floods in Safi caused significant destruction, disrupting daily life and damaging homes, public facilities, and essential services.
