The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has said that Iran has submitted 16 formal complaints to the International Criminal Court and other international institutions, seeking condemnation of what it describes as “unprovoked aggression” by the United States and Israel.

According to Iranian state media Press TV, the move comes amid escalating hostilities that began late last month. Razieh Alishvandi, IRCS Deputy Head for International and Human Rights Affairs, said Tehran is actively engaging global bodies to push for legal action over the alleged attacks.

She added that the IRCS is in regular contact with international humanitarian organisations, including the International Federation of the Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross, and has issued multiple joint statements highlighting reported violations.

These statements, as cited by Press TV, refer to alleged attacks on civilians, medical facilities, ambulances, and other humanitarian infrastructure, along with incidents involving naval assets.

The latest escalation, described as a renewed phase of military confrontation starting February 28, follows an earlier period of heightened tensions months ago. In response, Iran has reportedly carried out retaliatory strikes using missiles and drones targeting sites linked to Israel and US military assets in the region.

IRCS chief Pir-Hossein Kolivand said the conflict has caused widespread damage to civilian infrastructure, with tens of thousands of residential and commercial units affected, along with schools, healthcare centres, and emergency services.

He characterised the attacks on such facilities as serious violations of international humanitarian law, stressing that damage to medical and rescue infrastructure directly impacts life-saving services.

Iranian authorities, according to the report, are continuing to document these incidents as part of a broader legal effort to pursue accountability at international forums.
