Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate and prominent human rights activist, has been discharged from a hospital in Tehran after spending more than two weeks under medical care, her supporters said on Monday.
Supporters of the 54-year-old activist have urged authorities to allow her to remain at home so she can continue receiving follow-up treatment and daily physiotherapy.
Mohammadi was initially rushed from prison to a hospital in northwestern Iran on May 1 after reportedly losing consciousness. Nearly 10 days later, she was released on bail and transferred to a hospital in Tehran, where medical specialists carried out further examinations.
Mohammadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2023 while she was in prison, in recognition of her long-standing fight for human rights and women’s freedom in Iran. She has faced repeated arrests and imprisonments throughout her activism. Her most recent detention began in December after she was arrested in Mashhad in northeastern Iran.
Her family has previously expressed serious concerns about her deteriorating health in custody, alleging that she was severely beaten during her arrest.

According to her family, Mohammadi suffered a heart attack in March and has also been dealing with a blood clot in her lung, a condition that requires continuous blood-thinning medication and close medical monitoring.
