While the India officials were playing the recording of the satellite phone conversation between the Lashkar-e-toiba terrorists who had attacked Mumbai 12 years ago and their Pakistani handlers at the UN Security Council’s counter-terrorism conference to bring home the point about the impunity with which terrorism is used by our neighbour, in Kashmir, Police told a court how Pakistanis were using cyberspace to rope in young children of Kashmir into terrorism.

The J&K State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Friday filed charges against three accused including two juveniles, who had been recently lured to work for terrorist organization Lashkar-e-toiba, and were arrested by police from North Kashmir.

The adult accused has been identified as Rahid Mushtaq Ganie of Amargrah, Sopore, while the identity of two juveniles is not been disclosed for legal reasons. The charges of terrorism have been filed in a special court against the former, while others will face the same in the juvenile Board.

SIA statement said the trio were arrested during a special drive following a tip off that terrorists were in search of an opportunity to attack Police and security forces in the general area of Takiybal, Sopore, north Kashmir four months ago.

During the investigation all the three easily gave in and cooperated with the SIA. On the basis on the information and further research the SIA identified Pakistani handlers Zarar and Haroon who had had used cyberspace for instigating, enticing, and motivating several Kashmiri youth including the accused persons to join terror ranks and provide logistics for running the terror modules.

An SIA statement after filing the charge sheet in the cout said the identities of the handlers in Pakistan were being ascertained and action to expose them and submit evidence against them would follow during the further course of investigation which was continuing.

It said that these handlers had motivated the accused to act as their sub-agent and provide logistics for sabotage and carrying out attacks on security forces and vital installations to meet the objective of secession of J&K from the Union of India.

The police had also recovered a pistol with a magazine and seven live cartridges of pistol, an AK 47 rifle and a live hand grenade, and a pistol with a magazine and three live cartridges of the pistol were recovered from their possession.
