A senior Ukrainian delegation will meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff on Sunday to discuss Washington’s peace plan for ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Presidential advisor Jaresh Kushner will also join the talks in Florida.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a “dignified end” to the war was possible as the US was showing a “constructive approach.” He added that discussions will continue based on the Geneva points.
The delegation is led by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, and has been tasked with outlining steps toward ending the conflict.
The talks come amid renewed Russian strikes, which Zelenskyy said involved 36 missiles and nearly 600 drones, resulting in multiple casualties.
